Mrs. Gould, widow, had son Oscar
Eliza Patton, widow of Nathaniel Patton, had children Hannah, M. John
H., and Eliza.
Letter in file from Eliza Overall to Nancy Patton after the birth
of John H. from St. Charles, Co., Mo. dated 23 Nov 1847 to Nancy Patton.
Suspect Nancy was living in Fayette, Howard County.
1850 Census p. 4, #36 Eliza living in St. Charles County. John is
listed as being 15 - letter from Eliz states he was a baby in 1847. Son
Nathaniel Patton, ae 15 listed as Overall. Did Wilson adopt Nathaniel Patten?
Young Nathaniel is listed in grandmother Nancy Pattens will.
"Ausken, ae 13" living with Wilson S. Overall. Unable to identify
this child - could be grandchild or misreading of census. Wilson discribed as
a "Gentleman, valued 30,000"
Eliza Patten, as recorded in the family Bible of Nancy Patten, mother of
Nathaniel, was originally thought to be the sister of Nathaniel Patten, the
editior. According to HISTORY OF HOWARD AND CHARITON COUNTIES, P. 824, Eliza
was the daughter of John P. Williams, and the second wife of Nathaniel Patten.
Nathaniel did have one son born 1835.Ref: Bible of Nancy Patten

Mar Rec of Mo widow Eliza A. Holeman 27 Feb 1831 md Nathaniel
Patten after the death of his wife Matilda in 1830. She was the
widow of Dr. Holeman. Suspect there may have been other children, none are
mentioned in the obituary of . Eliza was living in St. Charles County, 1847
and wrote shortly after birth of son John H. Overall.
Eliza md Dr. Holman, widow of Dr. John, no record of children,
but he must have died shortly after they were married. Note: Eliza submitted
to LDS church as Eliza Patten, and was submitted for sealing as sister to
Nathaniel Patten, Jr. This is wrong but we are recording baptism and endowment
here.
1850 Census St. Charles Co., Mo. p. 36 living with Wilson Overall and son
Nathaniel. Nathaniel listed as "Overall". Eliza ae 45.

"On January 22, 1793 The Bench, or Bob Benge, the most dring and crafty of the
Chickamaunga bushwhackers, and Double Head - beyond question the most cruel and
bloodthirsty Indian in the Cherokee ntion, fell in with a party of Traders at
Dripping Spring, on the trace from Cumberland to Kentuck, killed Capt William
Overall and Mr. Burnett, took nine horses, loaded with goods and whiskey and
made their escape. It is reported that they cut and carried of the flesh from
Capt Wm. Overalls bones", American State Papers, Indian Affairs, I 436ff
p. 349 "Capt William Overall, the oldest of the family cme first to
Nashville; later he was chose by James Robertson as one of the eight men who
should set out with him from Watauga on his first trip of exploration to the
Cumberland country. (Believe James Robertson is direct ancestor of Clyde
Lawrence Harvey III)
"Among these men who returned with Robertson in the fall of 1779 was
Nathaniel Overall. Both he and William, his brother signed the Articles of
Agreemtn or Compact of Governmewnt, of the Cumberland settlers as Nashborough,
May, the first 1780."

killed in St. Charles Missouri by Indians, was buried on Overall Farm near
Portage des Sioux. Both grave and home washed away by flood. In 1960 two
tombstones, one of his wife, were washed ashore." Could this be the same
