Dear Aunt Lucille and Uncle Alvin,

How are you? I am fine. I borrowed Grandmother's stationary to drop you a note. I certainly enjoyed staying at your home. Most of all though I enjoyed the long rocking you gave me until 10:00 p.m. That was the best time I've had in a long time! And the ride Uncle Alvin gave me was so thrilling!!!

Mother told me that if you hadn't kept me, we would have never completed moving. She certainly did appreciate your taking care of me. I do hope I didn't wear you out because I want to come see you again real soon.

I'm enclosing the pictures promised to you so long ago. Thank you again for the lovely time I had at your home.

Love, Billy

PRETTY HOME WEDDING

One of the prettiest occasions of the season was the wedding of Miss Lucille Botts, of this city and Mr. Alvin Smith, of Oklahoma City, which was solemnized at high noon on Wednesday, June 15, ((correct date is June 16)) in the home of the bride’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. O.K. Botts, 1210 Chickasha Avenue.

The ceremony took place in front of a trellised arch, twined with lacy fern, larkspur and daisies. Festoons of smilax connected the arch with the mantle from which arose baskets of bride’s roses and smilax.

Tall baskets of white garden flowers were placed at the base of graceful torchiers, triple-lighted, which stood at each side of the trellis.

Before the appearance of the bridal party, Mrs. Vernon Snell, of Oklahoma City, sang, "Oh, Promise Me." She was accompanied by Mrs. George Mitchell, of Waco, Texas, the sister of the bride. Mrs. Snell wore white, with a corsage of orchid and shell pink. The wedding march of Mendelssohn was played by Mrs. Mitchell.

Preceding the bride, came Miss Willie Faye Corbin, Of Chickasha, who wore a gown of blonde-colored georgette, skirted with three scalloped bands and with harmonizing bolero, embroidered in green. Miss Corbin’s hat was of blonde and green ribbon on the same colored straw. She wore a corsage of sweet peas and valley lilies.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, came next, on his arm. She was beautiful in a gown of rose-sand georgette, combined with delicate lace of the same color. Inserts of the tiny, pleated georgette were seen in the sleeves and the skirt while bands of the double georgette, from the neck to the hem, were bound only at the waist by a narrow belt. Accessories harmonizing with her gown included shoes of nude parchment-color, piped in dark brown and a large hat of pale pink meline. A handsome shower bouquet of sweetheart roses and lilies of the valley, completed her costume.

Mr. G.O. Pittman of Cement served as best man. The ceremony was read by the Rev. J.W. Bruner of the First Baptist church of Chickasha. At its conclusion an elaborate breakfast was served to the bridal party and guests. Sweet peas and valley lilies made the long table attractive, while the centerpiece was a beautiful wedding cake, which the bride cut for her guests as the ice course was served. Tiny brides marked the place of each guest.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith left immediately for points in Colorado, the bride wearing an attractive beige traveling costume, with a beige and flame-colored hat.

Mrs. Smith is a very popular and attractive young woman, who was graduated from the Oklahoma College for Women, where she is a member of the Em Hi social club. She is also a member of the 22nd Ltd. Club and claims a huge circle of friends who wish her happiness.

The bridegroom is a sales-supervisor for the Magnolia Oil Company, and has made his home in Oklahoma City. They will be at home in Tulsa, Okla., after July 15.

Guests at the wedding and breakfast, other than members of the bridal party were Mrs. J.E. Smith, mother of the Groom, and his sister, Miss Lila Smith, both of Oklahoma City, Mr. and Mrs. Jed Johnson, of Anadarko, Miss Claribel Buford, and Mr. Earl Botts, of Chickasha.

Love, Billy

PS - In case you are wondering how I got so smart, I inherited it from my father.
