Extracted from LDS microfilm
records by Barbara Dobbins Title (Snibbod1@AOL.com) While care was taken
in transcribing these records, researchers should inspect the records themselves.
In some cases it was impossible
to know with certainty how a person's name was spelled. Unusual names with
clear spelling are underlined; questionable names are marked with a question
mark.
Except for the comments
"No children named," all remarks by the extractor will be bracketed. Unless
otherwise noted, all place names are towns. Counties and townships will
be so designated.
JP denotes Justice of the
Peace, MG stands for Minister of the Gospel.

33 This is to certify that
I solemnized the rites of marriage between Benjamin H. Bryan (colored)
and Rachel Rutledge (colored) in Caledonia, Washington County, Missouri,
some time during the year 1849 or 1850. I further certify that I did not
make any record of this marriage, as at that time the law did not require
Negro marriages to be recorded. Given under my hand this 14 day of July
1866.
