EPPS/PEERY
I am searching for any information on Epps and Peery's that were in this area in 1850's My Ggrandmother, Mary Elizabeth Epps was born December 29, 1854 in Corinth, Alcorn Co, Miss. Parents were Frank Woodly Epps B. December 16, 1822 in Tenn. married Sarah Harriett Mills B. May 05, 1834 Purdy, McNairy Co., Tenn. but were obviously in Miss. when daughter, Mary Elizabeth was born. There was also a Peterson Epps in Tishomingo Co. Miss in 1850 who moved back to McNairy Co. I believe that these families were related because they were in the same places. I am trying to find parents or siblings of Frank Woodly Epps. Also, my Ggrandfather James Benjamin Peery was orphaned in Purdy, McNairy Co. and also ended up in Corinth, Alcorn Co., Miss about 1865, because he and Mary Elizabeth were married 1871-1873 there. I have been unable to find any of his relatives but he supposedly was sent to Corinth to live with relatives. Thanks for any information anyone could share. Regards, Patsy Peery Taylor
