Harvey Lakey of Rienzi, Mississippi was possibly my gggrandfather, Pleasant Harvey Lakey. He is listed in the 1890 Union Soldiers of Alcorn co, Miss., He also lived in Walnut Grove, Tennessee about 1881-?, two of his sons were married in Lee, Mississippi. Harmon Lakey married Isabella Bray (1892?), and James Henry Lakey married Artie Estelle Wilson (~1903). They moved to Walker co, Alabama ~1906.

Seeking information on SILAS CHEEK b abt 1800 NC Appears on the 1840 & 1850 census for Tishomingo Co., MS. I believe his father was BROOK CHEEK Age 75 and living with Silas Cheek and his family in 1850. One of Silas' siblings was Richard Cheek b abt 1798 NC and also lived in Tishomingo Co. in 1850. Silas Cheek married Edith "Edy" PHILLIPS in Chatham Co., NC on August 15, 1822. I have not been able to locate these CHEEKS since 1850 and would like to learn more about these family members and their children. Other surnames in this family are; Sanders, Suggs, Scott and Rorie. Looking for the parents of Samuel Lee and Eva Lena Woodward, siblings born in early 1870s in Corinth, Alcorn Co., MS. They were apparently orphaned and taken to Texas by the Thomas Columbus Carpenter family in early 1880s. Family rumor has it that their mother, possibly Sarah Chance/Chans Woodward and infant daughter Elizabeth died in an epidemic in 1878, but whereabouts of father --- "Bud" (maybe John Thomas?) Woodward are unknown. Have been unable to locate any records or graves to support any of the names. Sam Woodward was my grandfather.

(Ruby might of married Ralph Andrew Burcham on 8-23-1931, Prentiss Co., Miss.) George and first wife, Mary Wingo had the following children: A. Ethel Yarber who married Chester A. Wren. B. Albert Yarber (went to Ark.) C. Marvin Yarber who married Nellie Smith and she is buried at Wheeler Grove. 2. Marion Yarber, b. ca. 1872-73, d.? Married: (I was told that he didn't marry but I found where a Marion Yarbry married Della Wingo on 10-4-1891, Alcorn Co., Mississippi). 3.
