I am searching for information regarding the early days of Indian Springs Cemetery in Alcorn County. I have a Civil War death benefits form for Robert M. Kelley who served in Company H of the 22nd MS Regimental Infantry. The form claims that he was buried there in 1903 without headstone. I have a transcription of the cemetery, but none of the headstones predate the 1960s, except for two infants buried there in the 1950s. Does anyone have any information on the early days of this cemetery or, perhaps, what organization is the caretaker of the cemetery? Thank you!
