Bates/Seago My Great Grandparents were Maryh (M C) and Nancy (Seago) Bates recorded in the 1870 Alcorn Census with one son William. They later had two more sons, John T and James H.. The interpretation of Maryh in the census is indexed as that but the handwriting is diff icult to read. He is listed as M C on the marriage to Nancy in 1866. He had left the family by 1880. Is anyone researching this family that might have some insight on the possibility that this person could have been the Micajah, son of William and Sarah Bates in the 1860 Tishomingo County census. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |
