CHOCTAW FRAUDS
It would be well for the people of Attala to hold a public meeting, say at the time of the proposed Convention for the county and solemnly resolve that they will support no man for political station who is or has been engaged in those stupendous Choctaw Frauds. Men who have dabbled in this and such other things, should, instead of being sent to the Capitol at Washington or Jackson, be sent to a large brisk establishment in Jackson, on a hill a little northwest of the Capitol. The people should arouse on this subject , and express their dis-approbation in language which cannot be misunderstood. What! Send a man to Congress or to the Legislature of the State, who had been engaged in these fradulant and villanous claims. You had as well put a wolf in a sheepfold.
