Elem W. Stuckey was born in Rocky Point, Attala County. He served with the Rocky Point Rifles in the CSA during the civil war. The phtograph was taken in the early 1900's.

His son, Robert Lee Stuckey married May N. Suggs. They are the grandparents of Ruby Stuckey Sharp who submitted the photograph.

Elem W. Stuckey's father was Edmond Stuckey born 1808 in Wilkinson County, Georgia. Edmond appears on the 1835 tax rolls for Attala County. He removed to Calhoun County sometime after 1867 and appeared on the 1870 census for that county. By 1880 he had removed to Titus County, Texas where he lived in the household of his daughter, Margarete Stuckey Watson and her husband Robert Watson.
