Clint Turner, son of James C. Turner, was born in Meriweather County Georgia in 1845. He emigrated to Attala County Mississippi in 1860 shortly after the Federal census was taken in Pike County where he was counted in his parents home. He moved to Attala County with his brothers Green F. Turner, born 1830 in Upson County Georgia and James Marion Turner, born in Meriweather County Georgia. In 1895, another brother, John N. Turner, born 1836 in Meriweather County Georgia moved to the nearby area of Kilmichael in Montgomery County with his wife Nettie Ennis Turner and their children.

Green F. Turner married Elizabeth Elzira Rhodes in Georgia and Clint Turner married Eliza Jane Bennett in Attala County. Both families raised their children in Attala County, Mississippi. They are buried in Berea Cemetery. James Marion Turner married Elizabeth's sister, Mary Etta (Puss) Rhodes who is buried in Liberty Hill Cemetery. After serving in Company I, Choctaw Guards, 15th Mississippi Regiment (CSA), and the death of his first wife, he removed with his family to Holmes County where they are buried in Ebenezer Cemetery.

Clint and Elizabeth Turner raised nine children:

5. Cooper - June 2, 1879 - Feb 12, 1947 buried Berea Cemetery Attala County, MS.
6. Nannie - June 13, 1883 - Mar 30, 1852 buried Berea Cemetery Attala County, MS.
7. Joseph Martin - Oct 15, 1884 - Aug 25, 1947 buried Calcasieu Parish, La.
8. Stella - Oct 1889 - April 21, 1956 buried Evergreen Cemetery, Orange County, Texas
9. Erthie Ester - Sept 27, 1892 - June, 1974 buried Pascagoula, Jackson County, MS.

Emmett married Alma Rhodes on October 10, 1892 in Winston County, Mississippi.
Luther married Ritty Arminda Tobey on August 28, 1895 in Crowley, Calcasieu Parish, La.
Bob married Katie Toler on November 27, 1898 in Attala County, Mississippi.
Everett married Nellie Harris on March 4, 1897 in Attala County, Mississppi(first wife). Married Montrose Conner on November 11, 1902 in Attala County, Mississippi
Cooper married Betty Threadgill on December 6, 1900 in Attala County, Mississippi
Nannie married P. G. Rawles on January 15, 1903 in Attala County, Mississippi
Joe married Myrtle Whatley on July 19, 1903 in Attala County, Mississippi
Stella married Alonzo Carr on March 6, 1904 in Attala County, Mississippi
Erthie married Thelma Wheeler on November 16, 1919 in Attala County, Mississippi

Nancy Grogan's father is Eric Larkin Turner, born August 27, 1907 near McCool, Mississippi. His parents were Bob and Katie Toler Turner.
