Clint Turner, son of James C. Turner, was born in Meriweather County Georgia in 1845. He emigrated to Attala County Mississippi in 1860 shortly after the Federal census was taken in Pike County where he was counted in his parents home. He moved to Attala County with his brothers Green F. Turner, born 1830 in Upson County Georgia and James Marion Turner, born in Meriweather County Georgia. In 1895, another brother, John N. Turner, born 1836 in Meriweather County Georgia moved to the nearby area of Kilmichael in Montgomery County with his wife Nettie Ennis Turner and their children.
Green F. Turner married Elizabeth Elzira Rhodes in Georgia and Clint Turner married Eliza Jane Bennett in Attala County. Both families raised their children in Attala County, Mississippi. They are buried in Berea Cemetery. James Marion Turner married Elizabeth's sister, Mary Etta (Puss) Rhodes who is buried in Liberty Hill Cemetery. After serving in Company I, Choctaw Guards, 15th Mississippi Regiment (CSA), and the death of his first wife, he removed with his family to Holmes County where they are buried in Ebenezer Cemetery.
Clint and Elizabeth Turner raised nine children:
1. Emmett Larkin - Dec 1, 1872 - Sept 22, 1950 buried Berea Cemetery
Attala County, MS. Emmett married Alma Rhodes on October 10, 1892 in Winston County, Mississippi. Nancy Grogan's father is Eric Larkin Turner, born August 27, 1907 near McCool, Mississippi. His parents were Bob and Katie Toler Turner.
