William Arthur Alexander
Born: May 9, 1896 in Clarke County, MS Died: September 6, 1944 in Memphis, TN. William Arthur Alexander, former resident of this city, died in Memphis, Tennessee, Wednesday at 10 pm. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ruby Coleman Alexander; three daughters, Mesdames Carrie Murchison, Ruth Temple, and Misses Jean Alexander all of Memphis, Tennessee; two sons, Jerry of Memphis and Roland Alexander of the United States Army; mother, F. A. Alexander of Clarke County, MS; one sister, Mrs. Sam Allen of Tampa, FL; and six brothers, West Lawrence Alexander, and Sidney all of Basic City, MS, Luther of Bogalusa, LA, R. L. of Shreveport, LA, Charles Alexander of Meridian, and four grandchildren. The remains will reach Meridian, Friday at 7 am and to be carried to Webb Funeral Home where they will remain until 2:30 pm. Funeral Services will be held at 3:30 from the Oak Grove Methodist Church, Clarke County. Rev W. L. Hamrick will officiate and interment to follow in the church cemetery with Masonic service at the graveside. |
