Mrs. James L. Bailey, Will be Buried Here Thursday at 10 am
Accompanied by relatives and friends, the body of Mrs. Ruth Stinson Bailey, aged 32, wife of James L. Bailey, whose death occurred in Biloxi Tuesday at 5:30 pm is expected to reach Meridian Wednesday at 3:30 pm. It will be taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. Sam A. Usher in Meridian Route 5 where funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 am. The death of Mrs. Bailey came as a shock to friends here. A sweet Christian character, she was greatly beloved by all who knew her. Holding membership in the Baptist Church she was active in this program. Besides her husband to who she was married in 1922, she is survived by five sisters, Mesdames Sam A. Usher, Meridian; C.E. Daws, Chunky, Ms; J.K. Slaughter, Utica, MS; Effie Giles, Trenton, N.J.; and one brother, H.J. Stinson, Meridian. Her parents were the late Mr. & Mrs. Burwell J. Stinson. Dr. T.M. Fleming, pastor of Fifteenth Ave. Baptist Church and the Rev. J.H. Street, pastor of Highland Baptist Church will conduct the services, interment to follow in Semmes Cemetery.
