
James Henry Fisher

Born: November 18, 1868 in Lauderdale County, MS Died: September 30, 1948 James Henry Fisher, 79, well known resident and retired employee of Southern Shops, died Thursday at 7:15 am at Anderson’s Infirmary. Mr. Fisher was a pioneer resident of Lauderdale County, and spent his entire life in the community. Survivors are; three daughters, Desma Gray and Lucy Horne of Mobile, AL, Mary Boggs of Meridian; stepdaughter, Mrs. Jean Norwell, St. Louis, MO; two sons; William Robert Fisher of Meridian, and J.H. Fisher Jr. of Mobile, AL; one sister, Mrs. John Purvis, Meridian; five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 pm from the Webb Funeral Home. The Rev. A.L. Meadows will officiate and assisted by the Rev. T.J. O’Neil. Interment to follow in Magnolia Cemetery. He was preceded in death by his parents William T. Fisher and Ann Butler Fisher; wives; Anna Mariah Pickett Fisher, Birdie Henderson Fisher, and Mamie Tims Fisher. Pallbearers: Melvin Fisher, Harmon Purvis, Louis Pryor, Ernest Mitchum, Milton Pickett, and Frank Fisher. |
