Mrs. Mary Emmett Perkins, wife of Slvannous Perkins, died at Andersonís Infirmary Saturday at 5:45 am after a brief illness. The deceased was born in Kemper County and resided there all her life. She was a member of West Kemper Church and her sweet disposition and Christian character endeared her to all. Survivors are four daughters; Mesdames R.V. Clark; J.C. Flannagan; G.S. Puckett; and G.A. McLaurin; three sons: Sgt. Roger Perkins, U.S.A. Camp Shelby, Ms.; Eugene Perkins, Dekalb; and Robert Perkins, Chatham, AL; 4 sisters: Mesdames Annie Jones, Meridian, Ms; Mesdames Allie Massey and Alma Pace, Dekalb, MS; and Mamie Pace of Tallulah, LA. 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. The body will remain at the Williams Funeral Home until 3 pm Saturday and will then remain until 2 pm Sunday. Then it will be carried to the West Kemper Church where funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Otis Swearengen and Eugene Stephens. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. Pallbearers: Thurman Vick, Rufus Bounds, Ethel Davis, Braxton Cullum, and Shelton Perkins.
