Mrs. Mary E. Pickett Stinson, age 71, wife of the late B.J. Stinson, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elsie Usher, on the Fifth Street Road, Sunday at 2:45 p.m. Mrs. Stinson was well known in the county, and she was a member of Mt. Horeb Baptist Church. Surviving her are six daughters: Mesdames Mary Yarbrough, Philadelphia, Ms; Essie Giles, Newton, N.J.; Elsie Usher, Meridian; C.E. Daws, Chunky, Ms; Reattie B. Slaughter, Hazlehurst; Jas L. Bailey, Biloxi; one son, H.A. Stinson of Meridian; three brothers: James D. Pickett, Toomsuba; Joseph B. Pickett, Meridian; and Dr. N.J. Pickett, Milford, Texas. Funeral services were held from the residence of Fifth Street road Monday at 10 a.m. Dr. T.M. Fleming, Pastor of Fifteenth Ave. Baptist Church, the Revs. Gordon Ezell, of Forty-first Ave. Baptist Church, and R.W. Sumrall officiated. Interment followed in Stinson Cemetery. Active Pallbearers: Ike Walker, Willis Taylor, Curtis Robinson, Edwin Slaughter, Earl Shamburger, George Jackson, Clyne Shanks, and Edwin Sumrall. Honorary Pallbearers: Jim and Will Taylor, Lee Bynum, Alex Harvey, Algey Walters, E.A. Slaughter, R.L. Shamburger, G.C. Gunter, Donald Yarbrough, R.P. Bailey, Elmer Kitrell, Paul Gay, R.M.
