Be it remembered that there was begin and held at the Court in the town of Jacinto the first Monday in December 1839 being the Second day of said month a cession of the Board of Police of said County, proclamation being made as the ______is there was present the Honorable John C. Carter, James H. Robertson, David Ross, John Langly, and Robert H. Hicks, and Thomas Pate Clerk of the Board, Stephen S. Hogue Sheriff attended the Board as an officer.
The Board being organized proceeded to appoint a President and whereupon John C. Carter was unanimously chosen President fir the Constitutional term of office, and proceeded to business as follows.
Ordered by the Board that Austin Bulter be allowed the sum of four dollars for acting as Judge of the General elections two days at the precinct Town of Jacinto. Pd.Dec. 12, 1839.
Ordered by the Board that Alexander Mece ? be allowed the sum of four dollars for acting as Judge of the General election two days at the precinct Town of Jacinto. Pd. Dec. 9, 1839.
Ordered by the Board that William E. Newel be allowed the sum of four dollars for acting as Judge of the General election two days at the precinct at the house of John C. Carter. Pd. Mar. 11, 1840.
Ordered by the Board that William Moore be allowed the sum of four dollars for acting as Judge of the General election two days at the precinct at the house of John C. Carter. Pd. Apr. 1840.

Ordered by the Board that Samuel B. Reed, John Richardson, and Martin Savage be appointed Commissioners to relieve the Causeway Constructed in the Tuscumbia bottom on the Ripley Road, by Conrod Rinehart and that they report to the next cession of the Board.
Ordered by the Board that Lewellin Patrick, Arthur G. Runnels ( Reynolds )and George W. Smith the Commissioners appointed by the Board to report the condition of the County Treasury be allowed each three dollars for their services out of any monies in the County Treasury not otherwise appropriated. ( at the side of this order was written ) Isd. for Smith Feb. 11, 1840- Isd. for Patrick Feb. 12, 1840 - Isd. for three dollars to A.G. Reynolds.
Ordered by the Board that all those having notes in County Treasury for the three percent fund, renew the same for six months, and pay the interest and ten percent of the principle and that the County Treasurer be required to notify each of the contents of this order.
and then the Board adjourned until the first Monday in January next having been in cession one day.
