Be it remembered that on the second Monday of February 1840 being the 10 th. day of said month there was began and held at the Court house in the town of Jacinto , a cession of the Board of Police for said county, proclamation being made as the manner at hand, there was present the Honorable John C. Carter precedent of the Board and John Langley, Robert H. Hicks and James H. Robertson members then of, a constitutional majority being present Board preceded to business
Moses Bunn attended the court as an officer.Issued- It is ordered by the Board that there be an Election held on Monday the 15 day of March next at the different precincts in Tishomingo for the purpose of electing a member of the Board of Police for the fifth district and that the Sheriff open and hold the same after having given thirty days notice there of.

Issued- It is ordered by the Board that the overseers of James H. Patton and Ezekiel Key unite with their hands and build a bridge across Hinkles Creek on the Troy and Cotton Gin Port road and they be furnished with a copy of this order.
Issued- It is ordered by the Board that Martin Savage, John Reese and Thomas J. Knight be appointed commissioners of Jacob Hinkle, Ezekiel Key. and James H. Patton & E. Sorrell and Joseph Alexander , agree to the grade of each road and the labor required on each, and that the clerk furnish one of said commissioners with a copy of this order.
Issued- It is ordered by the Board that William Rushing the County Treasurer be allowed the privilege of taking a note out of the County Treasury on John Thomas for the sum of Seventy six dollars as a part payment for his service as Treasurer, and further that he be allowed to take any other notes in the Treasury given on Lots in the Town of Jacinto that may be consentive between the parties equal to the amount due him.
Issued- It is ordered by the Board that a County Tax of fifty per cent on the State Tax and a special Tax equal to the County Tax be levied on all taxable property within the County of Tishomingo for the year 1840 & a Tax of one fourth on the State Tax.
Issued- It is ordered by the Board that the County Treasure pay over to William B. Frost his note on John Payne amounting to about three hundred and eighteen dollars as part payment on a claim the County is due him for building the Jail in the town of Jacinto.( Issued Feb. 11, 1840)
Issued- It is ordered by the Board that James Box, Chisly D. Key and William Bowens be appointed overseers of the Poor for the year 1840 for the County of Tishomingo.
Issued- It is ordered by the Board that Thomas Pate be allowed the sum of Thirty three dollars for advertising the way in which the Justices beats and Police district were laid off & for writing two days for the Board. ( Issued $11.35 Feb. 11, 1840 Balance Feb. 18, 1840 )
