The Head of the household was Daniel B.JOSLIN b.Sept.1,1824 ,Ala. d.June 12 1901. Daniel belonged to the Mason EastPort lodge#94 in 1849. Daniels wife was Mary Jane LITTLE from Tn.. They had several children born in this county and also in Ala..This family moved north to Dyersburg Tn area after the war. I have more names and dates,if your interested please contact me

Her parents were Alexander Heflin and Sarah Morgan. She married H. C. (Harah Clay) Johnston Dec. 25,1865 in Moulton (Lawrence Co.) Ala. They resided in rural Iuka until both of their deaths. He is buried in New Prospect Church Cemetary.

Raymond Hellums owned three sawmills in the Iuka, Belmont, and Corinth areas in the late 1800/early 1900s. Back then, when the wook ran out at a location, they just moved the sawmill, so the exact towns may change. Sometimes, the sawmills might move into Franklin County AL for a few months, then back. Raymond had 19 children to live by two wives. The first was a TENNYSON. First name is unknown, but her father was Harm (Hiram?) Tennyson. The second wife was Lula Leatherwood. Rumour not yet proven: It was either Raymond's grandfather or great-grandfather who came from Ireland with his two brothers and a sister on the same boat (names are unknown). The sister died on the trip and was buried at sea. The brothers settled in Tishimingo County MS, Lee County MS, and somewhere near Houlka MS. One of them had to file for bankruptcy and changed his last name to Helms.

My grandmother, Sarah Ella PARSONS was born in Tishamingo Co April 19, 1882. Her uncle, who was a GRAVETTE, talked her folks into moving there from Clay Co., AL and they only stayed there a short time. However, I believe the GRAVETTE uncle and family remained. E. H. Gravette was one family member's name. Are any Gravettes remaining in the area
