John LITTLE died about 1852 in Blount Co. AL. His probate records say that by 1853, his widow Susan Little and 3 of his children were living in Tishomingo Co. MS. The children were Edward Little, Mahala Little and Martha (Little) BROWN, wife of James Brown. Another daughter, Eliza (Little) Early, wife of Levi EARLY, was living in McNairy Co. TN. By 1860, another son, William Little, was in McNairy TN also. Any information on these people would be greatly appreciated. |

I am searching for information on the family of Andrew Jackson FARIS, who was born in Gunnerstown Mississippi in 1825, this may have been a part of Tishomingo County I do not know for certain. There was a William FARIS listed in Tishomingo County on the 18 50, and 60 census. There were also FARIS's living in Fiske County, I have not been able to locate that county so it may not exist anymore. Looking for anyone doing research on the FISHER family in Tishomingo, Alcorn, McNairy or Hardin counties. My William FISHER (b.abt.1820) was living in Tishomingo County for the 1860 Census, living near Corrinth, (p. 269), on the same pages were other FISHER families who I'm guessing are his siblings. Their names were: Benjamin (b.1823/24 TN) Thomas (b.1829 TN) Pleasant P.A. (b.abt.1842) All three were living with a different William FISHER (b.1801) in Hardin County, TN for the 1850 Census. But my William was living in neighboring McNairy Co. then. |

Am looking for information on my great-grandfather. His name was Calvin Robinson, born April 1873, married a Rachel Short about 1892. She was born about 1874. She died about 1913 or 1914.Her parents were Matthew Short and Martha Grey or Gray. He then marrie d a Georgia Brewer from AL. I found Calvin and Rachel in the 1900 census for Tishamingo Co, MS. Calvin's parents were Issac Robinson and Martha Humphries. I do not know Calvin's brothers or sisters names. But I do know he had two nephews names Alfred Robi nson (Wife's name was Emma) and Elbert Robinson (wife's name was Melvie) Would like to find more info on Calvin and his family. My grandfather, Ardes Steven Webb, was born in 1890's at Planterville, Ms. I think that this is in Tisamingo county. Does anyone know of him, or his parents, Hiram and Rebecca Edwards Webb. They had one time were in Lamar county of Ala. Hiram's father was killed in an accident there. His name was Joseph Henry Webb. His mother, Lucinda Evans Webb, moved on with Hiram. The 1860 Tishomingo County Census lists the family of William and Sarah Bates and eight children, with one son Micajah. My Great Grandfather was a Maryh or M C Bates who married Nancy Seago in 1866 in Old Tishomingo County. Nancy and M C or Maryh lived in Alcorn in 1870 after which he left the family. The handwriting was difficult to read in the 1870 census but was indexed as Maryh. I researching the possibility that the Maryh, M C and Micajah might be the same person. Ages and state of origin at birth agree. Can anyone who might also be reseaching the Bates families help me? I would be grateful for any links, suggestions, or help. |
