CROWSON FAMILY IN TISHOMINGO COUNTY - I am seeking information regarding the family of Hightower and Julia Elizabeth Crowson who are listed on the 1850 and 1860 census of Tishmingo. They had twelve children, the first three born in Alabama and the last nine in MS. I am particularly seeking information on their seventh child, a son named James C. He was born in 1842 and apparently served with the 26th Mississippi Infantry, Company G, CSA. I would like to know if James returned to MS after the War and married locally or if he may have gone to Alabama to marry as did his younger brother. Perry H. Lovell, b 1810 in SC, and Angeline Hill, b 1810 in SC, were married in St. Clair County, AL Jan 3, 1833. They were listed in the 1850, St. Clair County Census with the following children, Hulda, b 1834; William, b 1835; James, b 1838; Polly (Mary Ca sen), b 1838; Jerimah, b 1843; Thomas, b 1848; and Charlott J.,b 1849. In the 1860 Tishomingo County, MS census appears Angeline Lovell as head of household with additional children Nancy E., b 1852 in AL and Martha F. A. S. born 1854 in MS. Does anyone know what happened to Perry H.? Since Martha was born in MS it appears tha t he moved to MS in 1853 or 1854. I did not find him in the Tishomingo Cemeteries Index neither did I find Angeline Lovell. |

I am trying to find Information on GOODEN/GOODON, YORK, GREENHALL. I am looking for William GOODEN. He was married to Thea GREENHALL and Sylvia YORK. My grandfather is George Gooden, born 1872 in Alcorn, Co, MS. I was led to believe his mother was Sylvia York, but have no proof. His sister, Cynthia, was born in 1894 in A lcorn, Co., MS. On the LDS online, I found that her parents are listed as William Gooden and Thea Greenhall. This leads me to believe there might have been two marriage. I have so far not been able to find William Gooden on any census, nor marriage records . I know if both children were born in that area, they must have been there for over 20 years.
