I am looking for information ot the following Byrams: Silas Condict Byram (1791-1882) wife Martha(Patsy) Blyth (1790-1858). They are buried in an old derilict cemetry in Tishomingo Co. Silas's son John(1818-?) and his wife Jane W. Hunt(1817-?) John was purported to be a Justice of the Peace in Tishomingo Co. in 1865, a Constable in 1866 and held public offices in 1867-1868. I have been researching a diary written by a Confederate soldier in the 9th Texas Infantry. An entry in his parents' family bible gave the following info: "Henry Clay Orr died in Julia, Tishomingo County, Mississippi on the 10th day of March, A.D. 1862, of typhoid pneumonia. Is buried about one mile a little East of South of Julia, and about 600 yards from the Memphis and Charleston railroad. Was a volunteer in the Capt. Ragsdale's company and Col. Maxey's regiment of the 9th Texas Infantry. Was buried by his commander with military honors." Records show that he was 1st Cpl. of B-company, 9th Texas Infantry Regiment. Would appreciate any information concerning this. |
