I have been told by my aunt that my Grandfather Edgar Green Maxwell was born in Tishamingo county Aug. 24, 1883. I am trying to find out if this is true place of his birth. My family line includes the names of Calvin Burleson and wife Mary Gotcher Burleson. Also Joseph Carr and wife Ellen or Elender last name unknown. Also Eli Smith and wife Louisa last name unknown. Benjamin W. Smith and wife Mary (Mary's last name may be Stout or Strong but don't know for sure. All of these people lived in Tishomingo County. Except for maybe Benjamin Smith and I believe that by the time he was born his parents Eli and Louisa may have moved to Prentiss County MS. My ancestor John W. CURTIS and wife, Susan MUSE CURTIS are found in Tishomingo Co. 1860 Federal Census. Trying to find a family connection with either a CURTIS or MUSE that lived in the county. John and Susan left Bedford Co. TN sometime after 1850 Census. A J.D. MUSE is also found in Tishomingo Co. on the same census and may Susan's brother. This may explain why they migrated to Tishomingo Co. Thanks. |

She would have been born about 1814-1820 period of time. I am researching William H. Hubbard who appears on the 1870 Tishomingo County MS Census. I believe he is the same as William H Hubbard in the 1880 Hardin County TN Census. According to the 1880 Census he would have been born in 1826 in TN. His wife Elizabeth J in 1833, children Nancy 1855, Cynthia 1858, Ella 1860, Lucy 1862, and Lena 1868. Ella married Frank Vaughn in 1891 in Hardin County. Anyone familiar with this family? |
