Frances Rebecca ROBINSON). Elijah and Hettie moved to Iuka, Tishomingo
County in
the early 1900's with six children. Elijah (my grandfather) was the son
of Elijah Andrew
GIST, Sr. (born abt. 1850 - in Ky.) and Catherine (?) GIST (born abt.1843
- in Ala.)(this
information was found in 1870 census - Franklin County, Ala.). Living
with them was Aaron
GIST (born abt. 1807 - in Ky.) and his wife Nancy (?) GIST (born abt.
1815 - in Ky.) My grandfather had a brother named James H. GIST b. 1862
in Ala. d. 1912. Are there any descendants of James out there? I
would like to find: 1. parents of Aaron GIST, 2. maiden name and parents
of Catherine, 3.

I am looking for any info on James H. Cunningham (2nd wife -
Sarah Gardner). James was born in TN in 1812 and died in Lee county, MS
in 1883. Someone told me he was buried in Balstengar in Lee county. I
cannot find this community. His first wife died before 1850. He is
listed in the Tishamingo county MS 1850 census with Eldridge (11),
Franklin (9), Henry (6), Misora (f-5) & Zachariah (3). I believe a
daughter Mary Francis (b 1849) was given to Jacob FROST to raise. In 1860
he was in Tippah county. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

and Landon Cabot. It is thought that Samuel RONE died in Tishomingo
County, MS as his wife and several children appeared on the 1870 census
for Prentiss Co., MS. Samuel RONE was not listed. Any information

family. Harvey married Mattie Seago and they had one child a son named Earl
Theodore Adams. They lived in Tishomingo county and Earl died in 197?. Earl
and his wife Susan Defoor had several children and I would like to be able to
contact one or more of them to help me complete this family group. They are
decendants of a Martin F. Adams from Tennessee and I have most of this family
outside of the Harvey W. Adams family group. I would appreciate any

There is much intermarriage between the families as follows:

Sarah WATTS b. 1833 m. 1852 William HOLLY
I can tie all of these together and have the STanford line back to N.
Ireland. Need info on the ancestors of the rest. The Bennetts and
Stanfords lived near Iuka, MS but their marriage bonds were filed in
Alcorn Co. The Watts may have lived in what is now Prentiss Co. and the
Holly there or Itawamba Co. Other related families with multiple
marriages into these surnames include: ALLMAN (3), KING (4), REID (2),
LEATHERWOOD (2), and WEST (2). The Stanfords were in Giles Co. TN in
1820, Marion Co Al in the 1820s and 1830s along with John Bennett and in
Tishimingo Co. in the 1840s and 1850s.

Looking for information on William HOLLY said to be the son of
Absolem HOLLY of Anson Co. NC. William may have moved from NC to
Giles Co. TN before living in Tishimingo Co. MS. His daughter Jane
HOLLY b. 1825 m. James WATTS and they stayed in Tish Co. William
Holly and his son William who m. Sarah WATTS moved on to Van Buren Co.
Ark where they are buried. I am trying to find William's wife and
confirm Absolem as his father and also identify his siblings and
children. I believe he had at least the following children: Jane
(my line), Nicholas, William m. Sarah WATTS, Alexander m. Margaret
STANFORD, and James m. Amanda STANFORD, there could also be a Lina
HOLLY m. J P BENNETT. I have related STANFORD and BENNETT lines too
all from Tishimingo Co. MS

His given name may have been William. Family history says he was a
Colonel in the CSA . Billy LAMBERTH had a son: Napoleon Bonaparte
LAMBERTH who was born abt 1847 and died October 20, 1888 in Alcorn County,
and who married Francis Elizabeth TUCKER March 9, 1869 in Corinth, Alcorn
County, Mississippi. Francis Elizabeth TUCKER was the daughter of Pitser
Miller TUCKER, the founder of Pittsburg Landing, Tennessee.
Any information on any of the above mentioned folks would be appreciated.

I am presently searching for information about RICHARD MANN,
formerly of Tishomingo county, Mississippi and Colbert county,
Alabama. Richard Mann, c.1805 - c.1876, (also known as Colonel Mann)
owned a plantation that spilled across the Mississippi-Alabama
state line. Upon this plantation he erected a chapel, Mann Chapel.
He married Mary Ann GALLIMORE and fathered William Austin Mann
(my G,Grandfather), Asa Mann, Wiley Mann, and raised at least
one adopted daughter, Mary Mann. In Colbert county, a road exists
named "Mann Chapel Lane", and several surrounding residents
recall
the chapel before it fell in the 1960's.
Specifically, I am searching for Richard MANN's burial site, and
photo's of MANN Chapel . Thank you

years after the civil war. John Wesley Moser came to Navarro county, TX
about the 1880s (along with the DAVIS, SMITH, VINCENT, BROUGHTON, and

STONE married Sarah Elizabeth SMITH 12-29-1857 in Tishominto County, Ms and lived there until about 1865. Dr. STONE was a county officer of Tishomingo County in 1864, 1865 and 1867-1868. Sure would appreciate any information on either/both of these men.
