Old Tishomingo County

If you are researching in Tishomingo County and you located your ancestors through 1860 in Tishomingo County, but in 1870 they have just up and disappeared!!. Don't despair they are probably still getting up every morning milking the cows, feeding the chickens and after breakfast going out to plow their crops on the same land they have for many years, more then likely they didn't move, only the county lines around them did. In 1870 OLD TISHOMINGO was divided and You should check in the following counties. Alcorn County and Prentiss County.Also if they weren't in Tishomingo County pre 1870 and now they are, check Itawamba County which became part of Tishomingo and Prentiss Counties.
