~ Cemetery in Vandemere ~

 
     There was a cemetery at Vandemere, NC. which has since been 
 destroyed by a storm.  
     It was on a point between Cedar Creek and Log Pond Creek, 
 closer to Log Pond Creek, across from an old saw mill.  
     The land was owned by Benoni Allen.
 
 Buried there are: 
    
Benoni Allen -      born:  1815  N.Y. 
                    died: Jan. 8, 1879 Vandemere, Pamlico Co, NC. 

Lois Owens Allen -  born: 1822 Jarvisburb, Currituck Co, NC 
                    died: bef 1882 Vandemere, Pamlico Co, NC.            
 Their Sons:
     
Benjamine F. Allen - born: Feb.15,1849 Powels Point, Currituck Co, NC. 
                     died: Jan.8,1888  Vandemere,  Pamlico Co, NC.

Irvin (Arv) Allen - born:   1855      died:  Pamlico Co, NC
Fred Allen          born: Aft 1860    died:  Pamlico Co., N. C.           
Tom Allen           born: Aft 1860    died:  Pamlico Co,  N. C.
  

 Source: Emma Allen Whealton (1882-1981) daughter of Benjamie F.
         and Kitty Messick Allen, born in Vandemere.  The exact location 
         was supplied by her grandson, Berry Carawan.
