The Division of the lands of Arnold Hopkins dec'd.
In obedience to an order of Pitt County Court May Term 1823 to us directed as commissioners appointed to divide and allot & partition all the lands of Arnold Hopkins deceased among the lawful heirs of said dec'd we have met on the premises accordingly and find agreeable (?) to the Surveyors Plot 409 acres which we have divided and set apart in Seven Lots as follows VIZ Lot No.1 drawn by Tabitha Hopkins containing 51 acres Valued @ $110 Bounded as follows Beginning at a Black Gum in the run of Coneto Creek Elisha Porter's corner thence down the said creek 45 poles is a black Gum thence South 206 poles to three water oaks in said Porter's (?) thu line thence No. 54 E to an old red oak and pine said Porter's corner thence with said Porter's line to the first Station and receives from Martha Hopkins $12.75 cts. No.2 drawn by Nancy Hopkins containing 53 acres Valued at $80 Beginning at three water oaks thence So. 64 W 62 poles to a pine said Porter's (?) thu corner thence No. 42 E227 poles to Coneto Creek to three small gums thence up the said creek to a black gum Tabitha Hopkins corner thence So. 206 pole with Tabitha Hopkins line to the first Station and receives from Litha Hopkins $42.75 cts. No.3 drawn by Whitmell Hopkins containing eighty-six acres valued to $115.50 cents Beginning at a pine Nancy Hopkins corner thence No. 4 E 4 poles to a black gum thence No. 64 W to a cypress in Coneto Creek thence down the said creek to Nehemiah Downs corner thence with said Downs line of marked trees to a pine thence No.67 E 49 poles to a post oak thence No. 55 W 56 poles to the first Station and receives from Martha Hopkins $7.25 cents---

No. 4 drawn by Martha Hopkins containing Sixty acres and valued at $147.50 cents Beginning at a cypress Whitmell Hopkins corner in Coneto Creek thence up said creek 5 poles to a pawpaw gum thence South 62 E 193 pole to a small red oak sapling in Nancy Hopkins line thence So 4 W to a black gum Whitmell Hopkins corner thence No.64 W with Whitmell Hopkins line to the first Station and pays over to Tabitha Hopkins $12.75 cents and pay Whitmell Hopkins $7.25 cents and pay Mary Hopkins $6.75 cts. No. 5 drawn by Mary Hopkins containing 55 acres Valued at $115.00 Beginning at a red oak in Nancy Hopkins line thence No. 4 East 60 poles to a black gum thence No. 63 W 167 pole to a pawpaw gum in Coneto Creek thence down said creek to Martha Hopkins corner a pawpaw gum thence So. 62 E 193 pole to the first Station and receives $7.75 from Martha Hopkins $4.75 from Elizabeth Mayo $2.25 (from?) and from Litha Hopkins $?.75 No. 6 drawn by Litha Hopkins containing 52 acres Valued At $166.25 cents Beginning at a pawpaw gum in Coneto Creek Mary Hopkins corner thence up the said creek 50 poles to a sweet gum thence South 63 E 158 poles to a black jack in Mary Hopkins line thence So 4 W to a black gum Mary Hopkins corner thence north 63 W 167 poles to the first Station and pays over to Mary Hopkins $(?)0.75 cents and pays over to Nancy Hopkins $42.75-No. 7 drawn by Elizabeth Mayo containing 56 acres Valued to $125.00 Beginning at a black Jack Litha Hopkins corner thence No. 4 E 68 poles to Coneto Creek to three small gums Nancy Hopkins corner thence So. 63 E 158 poles to the first Station and pays over to Mary Hopkins $2.25 cents.

#1  51 acres to  Tabitha Hopkins m. Roderick C. Vick (sells to Elisha Porter 
                              DB F p437 aprox.1833 DB lost in Fire of 1858; Elisha sells to 
                              Frederick Hopkins, DB KK p409 Aug. 1844). 
#2  53 acres    to  Nancy Hopkins m. Josiah Ellinor as his 2nd wife.
                              (sells to Elisha Porter  DB HH p139, Elisha sells
                              to Frederick Hopkins DB KK p58). 
#3  86 acres     to  Whitmell Hopkins m. Sidney Barnhill (sells part to 
                              Levi Leigh DB F p127, & part to Godfrey Stancil  DB F p79; 
                              Then Levi sells his part to Frederick Hopkins).
#4  60 acres    to  Martha Hopkins m. John Everitt  (sells to Levi Leigh 
                              DB DD-EE p49 Feb 1827).
#5  55 acres    to  Mary Hopkins m. m. Levi Leigh  (they sell 103 acres DB MM 
                              p47 to Frederick Hopkins 31 May 1847: this is Lot #4 and   of 
                              Lot #3). 
#6  52 acres    to  Litha (Talitha) Hopkins m. Wm.Thomas Ellinor)
                              (sells to Littleberry Worsley DB M-E pp45-49 Jan 1873).
#7  56 acres    to  Elizabeth (Hopkins) Mayo m. John MAYO as his 3rd wife  (sells to 
                             Frederick Hopkins  DB CC p345-346 November 1823).
TOTAL= 413  acres 

Land bounded on the East by Elisha Porter North & West by The Great Coneto Creek Run South by Nehemiah Downs

Frederick Hopkins eventually bought Lot numbers: 1,2, of 3, 4 & 7.
