This indenture made 18th day of January 1837 between Daniel Hopkins of the county of Edgecombe and state of North Carolina of the first part and William Hopkins Junr of the state aforesaid and county of Pitt of the second part Witnesseth for and in consideration of the sum of one hundred and thirteen dollars to me in hand paid by the said William Hopkins Junr the receipt is hereby acknowledged hath given granted bargained and sold and by these presents do deliver unto the aforesaid William Hopkins Junr his an his heirs or assignees forever one certain tract or parcel of land lying in the county of Pitt and on the south side of Coneto Creek Beginning at said William Hopkins own corner on the run of Coneto Creek then south 85 East to a sweet Gum on the back line then south 20 West ten poles then south 37 east twenty one pole to a red oak then south 19 West thirty seven poles to a pine in Robertson Jinkins line then north 61 west 50 poles to a small sweet gum in a branch then north 77 west sixty four poles to a water oak then north 51 west to the run of Coneto Creek thence up the various courses of said Creek to the first Station containing by Estimation oneHundred and three acres more or less it being of the land that fell to Lemuel Barnhill in right of his wife Lizina and I the before named Daniel Hopkins do bind myself my heirs and assignees to warrant and defend all of the right or title that I now have on the above named land unto the aforesaid William Hopkins his heirs and assignees forever in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fix my seal -----
