Does anyone have information on a family living in Wayne Co NC in 1860. Their names were John H Crawford,28 yrs old, student dentist. In 1850 I find him in Johnston Co and he is listed as a grocer. His wife was Patience Crawford, 28 yrs old. Her maiden name was Stevens and I am pretty sure that Jacob Stevens was her father. They had two children John W. Crawford 3yrs and Charles Crawford 10 months. I think John H. Crawford died during the Civil War. I have no idea what happened to Patience after about 1864 when I find her name on some land deeds. I think their son John W. Any help that anyone can give me will be so much appreciated. I have been trying to find where my great grandfather came from for a long time.

COOPER, STEPHENS, STEVENS posted by Gary W. Cooper on Tuesday, October 17, 2000

Does anyone know where I could find church records 1750-1850 regarding births, marriages and deaths of Wayne County residents? I am particularly trying to find the marriage record of a Drusellah/Drusilla STEVENS/STEPHENS to a COOPER ca. 1805-1810. She was the daughter of John and Mary Stevens/Stephens, and had a son William S. Cooper born 1810, based upon her fathers will and his Family Bible Records. I realize the couple could have been wed in churches or by pastors in the area from which Sampson Co. was made or the surrounding counties. The marriage could have been performed by one of the Rev. Coopers, Fleet or William, or by Rev. Edward Brown, as it appears that the Mr. Cooper in question was related to the Rev. Coopers and Miss Stevens/Stephens was related to Rev. Brown. Best Regards, Gary
