    In the name of God, Amen.  I  Thomas Boyte of the Province of North Carolina and County of Wayne (Planter?) being of perfect mind and memory make this my Last Will and Testament.  First I desire to buried in a descent manner at the descretion of my  Executors. 

    My temporal Estate first I give and bequeath to my beloved son Shadarack Boyte a piece of land beginning at the nut orchard and down the branch to the (Prickhosen?) to the line and to its beginning. 

    I give and bequeath to my beloved son Amos Boyte a piece of land which was Caleb Mitchel's land, the land which is on the East side of the South Branch in that tract to him I give and bequeath forever. 

    I give to my wife her lifetime my Estate to maintain her on and after her decease (w) hole and sole Estate to my beloved son Thomas Boyte. 

    I constitute and appoint my son Thomas Boyte and Amos Boyte to be my (w)hole and sole Executors of this my Last Will and Testament and I do hereby utterly revoke, disallow and disannul all former wills and legacies by one heretofore may otherwise left or made declaring and confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament as witnessed whereof I here unto set my hand and seal this 3 day of September 1786.

    Executors Qualified 

    In the name of God, Amen.  I Thomas Boyte of the County of Wayne and State of North Carolina being weak of body but of sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be God, do this 15th day of February one thousand eight hundred and sixteen do make and order this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form as follows to wit improvise my will and desire is that all my just debts be paid by Executors 
    hereafter named. 

    Second my will is my beloved son Henry Boyte the land and other things that I have given him to be his part and my beloved son Elisha Boyte the land and other things that I have given him to be his part.  Also I give to my beloved son Howell Boyte all the land thatís on the North side of the road that goes to Waynesborough of a pattin of sixty acres.  Also my lot in Waynesborough. 

    Also I give to my beloved son Thomas Boyte the young gray mare, bridel (bridle) and sadel (saddle) and one bed and furniture when he marries or gets free.  Also I give to my beloved son William Boyte my Strass Coalte bridel and sadel, one bed and furniture.  Also one Negro gal by the name of Delce not to be taken from hir (her) Mother during hir natural life without hir consent.  Also I give to my beloved son Patrick Boyte all the rest of my land that I have not given away after the death of my beloved wife.  Also one Negro woman by the name of Cheara and one negro boy by the name of Tona not to be taken from his mother in hir natural life. 

    Also I give to my beloved daughter Sela Howell five dollars besides what she has had.  Also I give to my beloved daughter Ann Sassar twenty five shillings besides what she had had.  Also my beloved daughter Nansa Howell what she has had to be her part as yet.  Also my beloved daughter Patta Boyte what she has had to be her part as yet.  Also my beloved daughter Equilla Langston five dollars besides what she has had.  Also my beloved daughter Bekka Boyte one bed and furniture when she marries or comes of age.  Also I give to my beloved daughter Elizabeth Boyte one bed and furniture also one negro gal by the 
    name of Juda not to be taken from hir mother during her natural life without hir consent. 

    Also I give to my beloved wife Elizabeth Boyte all my property real and personal that I have not given away during hir natural life and after her death to my son Patrick all but one negro gal by the name of Rose and one negro gal by the name of Julian and their increases and after the death of my wife the negro gals Rose and Julian and their increases to be valued and some of the heirs take them and if not sell them to the highest bidder and the money equally divided between Ann Sassar, Nansa Howell, Patta Boyte and my son Thomas Boyte, Bekka Boyte and William Langston son of Elijah Langston and Equilla his wife. 

    I nominate and appoint my worthy friends Issac Handly and Claudeau Hamilton Executors of this my Last Will and Testament rattifying and confirming this and this only to be my Last Will and Testament in witness whereof I the signed Thomas Boyte have hearunto set my hand and seal the day and date above mentioned.

    Sealed and published, pronounced and delivered by the Testator to be and contains his Last Will and Testament in the presence of us who are in the of each other:  Uriah Langston, John Howell,  Thomas Boyte. 

    Claudeau Hamilton qualified Executor only.
