Williamson family? Posted by Sandra Wamsley <swamsley@concentric.net> on Sat, 24 Jun 2000
Surname:
Hi all! Am hoping someone has some information on a Williamson family in Boone County about 1890-1900 or so, near Albion. I have two or three photos taken Albion, NE. The first one has three pretty young girls and is titled "Williamson sisters." The second is of my great-grandfather Thomas Newton Williamson, but he must have been visiting only - his CW pension file does not mention any place in Nebraska as one of his post addresses. Best bet is his brother Albert had remarried and as living there, or possibly one of his half-brothers. Sandra

I have found a professional photograph of Grace DISHER (her adopted Name). The photograph was taken in the early 1900's. It has the name [Jacobsen, St. Edward Neb.] typed under the photograph. This information has led me to the Boone county site with hopes that I can find a crack in the wall I have found myself facing.
Grace was adopted by the DISHER family but her biological mother was Grace Emma O'DONNELL. Grace was born out of wedlock on Jan. 20, 1885.

Randy,
I don't believe (at this point) that the George and Isabelle Pattersons are related....however I am beginning to suspect that there may be a connection back in Ireland which I haven't made yet. I do know that when Adam John's father was killed in an accident in Ireland in 1883 by a horse that the eldest boy came over to Boone Co. Nebr. Then the rest of the boys, mother and sisters followed in 1888 and again to Boone County. They all worked for Dave Primose and have found that in one of the marriages that 2 dau. of George and Isabelle were witnesses. Either they were cousins?? or friends. Seems strange that they would go directly to Nebraska without some kind of connection...but haven't been able to make it yet. Could also be that Dave Primrose needed workers and he talked to George Patterson who knew that there were all these strong healthy boys back in Ireland from the same neck of the woods where he was from and he recommended them. Thanks for your help, anyhow. Mary Beth

I am looking for some long lost relatives who settled in Albion. John Harvey (J.H.) Lough married Hannah Paul in 1879 in Hopkinton, Delaware Co., Iowa and moved to Albion. When John's mother, Fannie (Robison) Lough died in 1898 in Iowa it lists her daughter-in-law, Hannah Lough, living in Albion as the guardian of the 5 children of her son, J.H. Lough. They are listed as Charles, Anna, Frank, Lyle, and Fannie May Lough.
So does anyone know what happened to any of them? When did J. H. and Hannah die and where are they buried? Their children?
The only other lead I have is that Miss Fannie May Lough of Albion, NE came to Iowa for a cousin's funeral in 1923 (in the newspaper column). Any help would be most appreciated.

Don,
In the Boone Co. History Book there is an article on Robert T. Robinson, retired farmer and son of Henry and Sarah (Farmer) Robinson. (Page 581-582).
Here's the summary of that article:
Robert T. Robinson, born Feb 13, 1838 in Indiana and was fifth in a family of eleven (11) children, who are all deceased excepting Robert, one brother in CA and a sister living in Utah (at the time of the book being made anyway).
Robert's father died in 1872 in Fremont, NE and his mother in 1877 in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska.
At age 16 moved with his family to Wisconsin. Married Rachel McClintick on Sept 13, 1861 (also of Indiana and daughter of Hugh (d: 1893 in NE) and Nancy (Steen) McClintick.
Enlisted Sept 1861, Co. D., Eleventh Wisconsin Infantry serving eighteen months; honorable discharged in 1863 and returned home to WI.
In 1871 moved to Nebraska in Fremont Co, then in 1872 to Boone Co. NE.
Children were: Pryer B. married with three children lives in Cedar Rapids; Henry L. married one son also in Cedar Rapids; Schuyler C. married with six children living in Boone Co; James A. married with two children in Cedar Rapids; Clara married S.S. Rohere, died in 1899; Euretta B. lives at home, and an infant deceased.
Page 582:
Schuyler married Nellie Rickley with six children: Edith Imo (Wilson), Euretta Ione (Milburn), Henry A., Nellie May (Andrews), Frank and Carrie (Garvin).
There is a picutre of James Robinson (By Neva Robinson) and Mr. & Mrs. Schuyler Colfax Robinson in the book also.
On pages 580-581 is an article on James and Margaret Robinson's descendents.
