OLSEN, TIEDE posted by Mary Appleby on Sunday, October 1, 2000

I am researching the Steen Olsen family who came from Bergan Norway. One of Steen's sons was Thomas. Thomas was born on July 7, 1871 in Hebron, Nebraska. He married Emma Tiede of Albion, Nebraska on February 24, 1903. Emma was born on March 8, 1873 in Oak Park, Illinois. Emma died in December 1981. I have a copy of Thomas' obituary and know a lot of the Olsen genealogy, but I am interested in finding out more about the Tiede side of the family. Thomas and Emma are buried in the Lyons Cemetery in Lyons, Burt County, Nebraska.

I do not know when they moved to that area, but they left around 1916. I have information on Magdelena Hoeckle but not John Hoeckle (they also had a son named John Hoeckle who moved to North Dakota before 1915). I would appreciate anything you may have.

CHESTER, RYAN, TWITCHELL, WEEDMARK posted by Heather Nemanic on Tuesday, January 23, 2001

I am looking for information on my Great Grandfather JAMES ANDREW WEEDMARK, and my Great Grandmother JENNIE S. RYAN. JAMES was born in Ontario, Canada in 1859 and JENNIE was born in Vermont in 1857. I have found a clipping from the Columbus Journal dated Oct. 24, 1888 that has their wedding anouncement. It states that on Oct. 18, 1888 the Rev. H. L. Powers married JAMES A. WEEDMARK, a prosperous merchant of Boone county, and miss JENNIE S. RYAN of Santa Rosa, Calif.
I do not know if any of JENNIE'S family were in Boone county at the time, but her father's name was JOHN R. RYAN and her mother's name was JANE S. RYAN nee TWITCHELL. JAMES father's name was ADNIRAN WEEDMARK, and his mother was MELISSA WEEDMARK, nee CHESTER. I do not think that ADNIRAN and MELISSA ever left Canada, but can't be sure.
JAMES and JENNIE were in Porterville Calif. by 1889, as that is when their first child GEORGE RYAN WEEDMARK was born.
If any one has any info as to the who what and where fores of JAMES and JENNIE while they were in Boone County I would be very greatful for the information.
Thanks, Heather Nemanic
