MERRICK HENRY 12/3/1877 1ST HUSBAND OF JULIA WOHLMAN Julia was a sister to Mrs. Joseph A. Morten. Henry is actually buried 25' south of the SW corner of the cemetery. MORTEN BABY 1902 1902 Inscription: "BABY Son of H.B. & M.E. Morten 1902-1902 MORTEN" Parents were Henry Benjamin Morten & Maynee Elvira Barber, married 01/01/1900. MORTEN EDWARD 5/28/1848 9/17/1870 SON OF H. & S. MORTEN AGE 22 YEARS Bakewell Wesleyan Circuit Methodist Registers Killed in t hreshing machine accident, not married. Morten Wendt records that he was bruised internally and that he had an arm cut off by the machine. MORTEN HENRY 12/21/1812 1/10/1892 80 YRS 6/10/1892?? His father Henry lists "Henry, Born Dec. 21, 1812 - America: in his comments section of his personal ledger. As listed on the fron tpage of the Hartington Herald, Saturday June 18, 1892 "Obituary - Died, at the home of his son, Joseph Mroten, in Cedar county, Nebraska, on June 10, 1892. He was a member of the third and fourth legistlatures. The third was the first to have power to make decisions for the new State of Nebraska. The First and Second legislatures - Nebraska was a Territory. This obit is 2 to 3 full columns long. MORTEN ROBERT J. 6/2/1926 12/17/2000 74 YRS; HUSB OF DORIS KARNES SON OF RALPH MORTEN & ALICE JOHNSTON Great-grandfather was Joseph A. Morten. Great-great- grandson to Herny and Sarah, listed here. Monte & Diane Morten currently live on the same farm that Henry settled on July 12, 1858. MORTEN SARAH 1/9/1815 9/5/1886 50 YRS 8 MON Was still alive per 1880 census. Inscription: "She was a tender mother and in her life the Lord did fear" Her death is recorded in Henry's bible.
