WILLIAM HENRY3 DICKINSON (WILLIAM LOUIS2, JOHN1) was born February 01, 1868 in Snow Creek, Franklin Co, Virginia, and died April 01, 1939 in Randoph, Cedar Co., Nebraska. Zieglers and Dickinsons were related in Franklin Co (south of Roanoke) and along with others came west after the Civil War. My gggrandfather Byron who was Union from NY came west after the war to where his father Hezekiah was at Civil Bend south of ElkPoint across from Ponca where I grew up. Byron met and married Lucy Ziegler. The Dickinsons, Zeiglers and Townsends settled in St James then moved on to Randolph My Townsends moved to Ponca. Townsend and Dickinsons are buried in Randolph. The father of Lucy and some Whites and Edwards from VA are buried in Union Co west of Hawarden. I seem not to have information about Will being in Confederate forces but I do know that several brothers of Lucy were and two died at Gettysburg. One Ziegler was Sherriff of Cedar Co then in the Nebraska legislature.
