They were a little adventurous. There was William Wintrerringer, Hartington resident, who was known as Balloon Bill. He parachuted from Balloons to the ground. Sometimes he went as high as 6,000 feet. He holds the record for the most Balloon jumps and was at one time the oldest "Chutist" in the world. There have been articles published by his hometown of Hartington, Ne on his career as a Balloon Chutist. There is talk that Hollywood is looking into his life story for possible movie. Also, there were wing walkers in this family as well. They were daredevils. Also, James Frost Winterringer and his brother Henry, both served in Company I, 7th Cav during the Civil war under General Sulley. Where have we heard of Company 7th Cav before....Custards last stand. I also have pictures of Moses and some of his children. I also have an article printed by the Sioux City Tribune dated march 13 1884, of an article on Moses Winterringer who was visting there at the time. OTHER FAMILY GROUP SHEETS SUBMITTED BY M.J.
