Obit of Sarah J. “Winterringer” Williams Mrs. Sarah J. Williams died August 21, at the home of her daughter near Meckling after an illness of three months from kidney trouble. Deceased was born in Knox County, Ohio Jan 8, 1846. She was married at Sioux City, Iowa in 1862 to Henry B. Williams who’s death occurred 29 years ago. They made their home in Woodbury County, Ia., until 1885 where they lived for many years. They were the parents of 14 children, nine of whom are still living, five having died in infancy. After the loss of her husband Mrs. Williams lived for a while in Hartington, Neb., and then went to Minneapolis, MN., to reside. She came to Yankton last Feb. to visit her son and daughter and was taken sick in May. She leaves the following sons and daughters: David A. of Oregon, Mrs. Wm. Whitsell of Sioux City; Mrs. Nellie Wagenis of Minnapolis, Mrs. Ed Anderson of Minneapolis, Mrs. Frank Young of Meckling, SD., Dora Young of St. Paul, MN., Mrs. Gorgon of Andersen, MO., David Williams of Knos, Mont., and Jesse Williams of Yankton. The funeral services were held at the Frank Young home, Meckling, SD on Monday. Of the absent members of the family, Mrs. Dora Young, Mrs. Ed Anderson of Minneapolis and Jesse Williams of Yankton attended the funeral as as did a brother and sister of the deceased, James Winterringer, Mrs. Charles Lanpher (Lamphere) of Hartington. The Rev. Mr. Demsy of Meckling conducted the funeral.
