AHLSTRAND Sam Ahlstrand Buried at Magnet Friday Samuel Peter Ahlstrand was born the 21st day of December 1861, in Smaland, Sweden and came to America in 1881 settling in Essex, Iowa. He came later to Wayne, Neb., and then to Randolph where he took up farming. He was united in marriage to Hulda Leener in 1897. She passed away three years ago. For the past 5 years, he resided with his brother- in-law, Charles Leener on the latter’s farm near Magnet. Mr. Alstrand had been in ill health since last spring, having had the flu. He decided in September to go to his sister, Mrs. John Lundberg, at Geddes, S.D. everything possible was done here for him but to no avail. He was there for six weeks when he died October 16, 1923, at the age of 61 years and 10 months. He leaves to mourn his loss two sisters, Mrs. John Lundberg of Geddes, S.D., and Mrs. Augusta Stephens of Omaha. They both were in attendance at the funeral at Magnet last Friday, Rev. Carmony of Randolph conducting the service.
