Korth ====================================================================== BERTHA AXELSON Funeral services were conducted Sunday afternoon in Wausa for Mrs. Bertha Axelson, long-time Magnet resident and mother of Mrs. Carl Larson and Mrs. Howard Black of Randolph. Interment was in the Magnet Cemetery. Pallbearers were Cliff Kietle, Albert Bartlett, Earl Black, Emil Strom, Arvid Peterson and David Johnson. Services were conducted by Grace Hoops and LeRoy Bunten. Mrs. Axelson died early October 19, at the Osmond hospital after a very short illness. She was 83. She had lived in Magnet since 1933. Mr. Axelson died February 22, 1941, and she had continued to make her home there. Bertha was born in Sweden and as a child of 11 years came with a sister to America to live with relatives and receive her education. She was married to Charles Axelson at Tekamah on February 25, 1892. They lived near Oakland until 1911, when they moved with their family to Randolph. They first lived on the farm now owned by August Johnson north of Randolph. Mrs. Axelson was the last of her family of two brothers and five sisters. She is survived by one son, Phillip Axelson of Oakland, four daughters; Mrs. N.H. Dowling of Carroll, Mrs. Carl Larson and Mrs. Howard Black of Randolph and Mrs. T.R. Grevers of Battle Creek, Michigan, 11 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
