Korth ====================================================================== CHARLES AXELSON, 74, DIES SATURDAY Charles Axelson passed away February 22 at his home in Magnet, at the age of 74 years, 28 days. He had been in failing health for several years, but the past month failed rapidly. On Tuesday, February 25, Mr. and Mrs. Axelson would have celebrated their forty-ninth wedding anniversary. He was born in Lindkoping, Sweden, January 25, 1867. As a child he moved to the city of Norrkoping, where he lived until the age of 19, when he came to Minneapolis, Minn., and soon after came to Oakland, NE and became a citizen of this country. He was united in marriage to Bertha Johnson February 25, 1892 at Tekamah, NE and to this union were born five children. They were residents of Burt County until 1911 when they moved to a farm he had purchased northwest of Randolph. He had lived near Randolph until they sold their farm and moved to Magnet in 1934. In 1920 he had the great pleasure of making a visit to his homeland to see his aging mother, father, brothers and sister. In the fall of 1922 he met some of the Lord’s Servants and made his choice to serve the Lord. He was very faithful to his belief and even though gone, his life speaks. Mr. Axelson was a man of quiet dignity, honesty, and charm, a character worthy of the deepest respect. Besides his wife and children he leaves two brothers Phillip and David of Norrkoping, Sweden and a host of relatives and friends. Impressive funeral Services were conducted Tuesday afternoon from the home by Blanche Harstsock, minister of the gospel and interment made in the Magnet Cemetery.
