IRENA BAKER DIES AT SON’S HOME Mrs. Irena Baker, 73, died Tuesday morning at the home of her son Avery Baker near Belden. She had been ill for one week with pneumonia. She was born in Iowa, grew to young womanhood in her native state and was married there about 52 years ago to J.H. Baker. Forty-one years ago they moved to Randolph and engaged in farming, first on the old George Whitney farm north of town, then to the old Lyas Cobber place and farmed in that vicinity for about 12 years, They lived in Randolph for a short time and then moved to Magnet. Deceased leaves her husband, J.H. Baker of Magnet, and five children; Ray of Wessington Springs, SD, Avery of Belden, Arnold of Stoneham, CO, Mrs. L.F. Leckler and Mrs. Ross Dodson of Sioux City, Iowa. She also leaves 16 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church in Magnet Thursday afternoon (today) at 2:30 with burial in the Magnet Cemetery.
