Korth ====================================================================== JOHN H. BAKER John H. Baker was born at Marshalltown, Iowa, March 19, 1860. He grew to manhood in that vicinity. In 1882 he was married to Irena Lucy Haviland, to this union seven children were born. Last May he was taken to Sioux City, Iowa for medical care where he passed away October 22 at the age of 89 years, 7 months 3 days. He is survived by five children; 3 sons and two daughters. Ray of Denver, CO, Avery of Worthington, Minn., Arnold of Loveland, CO., Mrs. Leona Dodson Rock Rapids, IA, Mrs Louis Leckler, Loveland, CO., 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren. Two daughters, Edna May and Mrs. Fred Leckler and his wife Irena Lucy preceded him in death. In 1893, he came from Hubbard, Iowa, to Cedar County, Nebr. where he resided in and around Magnet for 52 years until his death. His funeral was held at the Magnet Methodist church. Rev. Wright of the Methodist church of Laurel read the service. Mrs. Arthur Henrickson sang Jesus Savior Pilot me, Rock of Ages and the Old Rugged Cross. Accompanied by Mrs. Geo. Van Gelder at the piano. He was laid to rest in the family lot in the Magnet Cemetery. Pallbearers were 4 nephews, Loren, Marlin, Lowell Baker all of near Worthington, Minn., William Dodson, Rock Rapids, IA., Arthur Henrickson and Floyd Dawson of Magnet.
