Beaudette 88, of Magnet were held Wednesday morning, October 22, at the Magnet Christian Church. The Rev. Lance Shaffer officiated. Burial was in the Magnet Cemetery. Pallbearers were Greg Beaudette, Scott Beaudette, Dan Beaudette, Jim Beaudette, Dale Beaudette, Jerry Beaudette, Mike Beaudette, Chris Beaudette, Brian Beaudette, Mark Beaudette and Steve Beaudette. Velma Beaudette was born February 9, 1909 at Sholes to Francis and Nellie (Martin) Elsberry. She grew up in South Dakota and Nebraska and as a young woman did domestic work in Omaha. She married Lee Beaudette February 14, 1931 at Omaha. To this union six children were born, John, Corva Lee (who died in infancy), Vonnie, Ronnie, Delwyn and Elwyn. They lived on farms in the Wausa and Magnet area. Velma was a member of the Magnet Christian Church. She passed away Sunday October 19, 1997 at the Osmond General Hospital. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law; John and Dorothy of Center, Vonnie and Donna of Holdrege, Ronnie and Patti of Wausa and Delwyn and Judy and Elwyn and Bev, all of Plainview; 20 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a daughter in infancy and one granddaughter.
