Mr. Bengston had been in poor health for some time, so his death was not unexpected. He was born at Vermalent, Sweden, on July 23, 1855, being about 69 years of age at the time he died. He spent his boyhood days in Sweden coming to America in 1882, when he came at once to Cedar county, homesteading on the place where he lived up to the time of his death. During his residence in Obert community, Mr. Bengston made many friends and was always one of the most respected residents of the community. He is survived by his wife, one son Albert and three daughters, Mrs. L. Stolpe, Mrs. E. Stolpe, and Mrs. L. Nedergaard, all of Obert. He also leaves 13 grandchildren. Funeral services were held from the Obert Lutheran Church, and interment was in the Obert cemetery. The pallbearers were Chas. Carlson, Q.F. Berg, Nels Nielson, K.P. Jensen, Ole Nielson, and Mrs. Christensen.
