Korth ====================================================================== ROSS BLACK, 53 CALLED BY DEATH Ross Black, 53, died unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Mr. Black had been in failing health for some time and for the past six months his condition from a fatal disease was considered serious. Because of failing health, Mr. Black held a farm sale a month ago and just two weeks before his death moved to the home he had purchased in Magnet. He was in Randolph last week Wednesday and greeted friends. Mr. Black was an upright, conscientious Christian gentleman. He had worked hard, managed well and owned the farm near McLean on which he had lived in this vicinity for more than 30 years. Ross Black was born in Iowa, January 31, 1880. Besides his wife, who had been his helpmate all these years, he leaves three sons and one daughter; Ray and Howard of McLean, Earl at home and Mrs. Albert Barltett of Magnet. He also leaves three sisters and one brother, Mrs. Annie Jones and Mrs. Geneva Furness of Magnet, Mrs. Pearl Jones of Bloomfield and Harlan Black of Spencer. Funeral services will be held at the house at Magnet Friday afternoon at 2 o’clock, conducted by John Good. Burial will be in the Magnet cemetery.
