Korth ====================================================================== ANNA BLOOMQUIST LONG TIME MAGNET RESIDENT DIED AT 85 Funeral services were held at Magnet Tuesday in the Church of Christ for Mrs. Anna Bloomquist, long time Magnet resident,, who died Saturday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Bert Mitchell of Belden. She had been ill several weeks. Mrs. Bloomquist had been a resident of the Magnet community for 56 years. She was born in Simoima, Sweden, April 19, 1869, the daughter of John and Christine Nelson. At the age of 13, she came to America with an aunt and settled at Essex, IA. She was married to Frank Bloomquist, February 27, 1896, and they came immediately to Magnet, which had since been their home. Mr. Bloomquist died April 24, 1942. Mrs. Bloomquist had been at Mrs. Mitchell’s home for a year. Survivors are three sons, Harold and Martin Bloomquist of McLean and Paul of Waterloo, IA; four daughters; Mrs. Helen Mitchell of Belden, Mrs. Ethel Behrend of Wausa, Mrs. Doris Becker of Norfolk, Mrs. Edna Stahl of Dos Palos, Calif.; three sisters; 25 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Two sons, also preceded in death. Mrs. Bloomquist was a member of the Church of Christ at Magnet. Grandsons acted as pallbearers at the funeral, internment was in the Magnet Cemetery.
