HARTINGTON — Olga Marie Bottolfsen, 93, Hartington, died Dec. 11, 2007, at the Golden Living Center, Hartington. Visitation, with a prayer service and video tribute, was Friday at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington, and continued one hour prior to services on Saturday at the Church. Funeral Services were Dec. 15 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartington, with Rev. Bob Bryan officiating. Burial was at Paragon Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hartington. Pallbearers were her grandsons, Gene Boysen, Darin Boysen, Martin Johnson, Nathan Johnson, Nick Bottolfsen, Scott Bottolfsen, Troy Bottolfsen, Todd Bottolfsen and Trent Bottolfsen. Honorary pallbearers were her granddaughters, Amy Saskosky, Heidi Johnson, Kate Bottolfsen, Wendy Eickhoff, Stacey Arthur, Laurie Joslin, and Sandy Bottolfsen. Olga Marie Bottolfsen was born July 29, 1914 at rural Obert, to Manuel and Arna (Haug) Klanderud. She was baptized into the Christian faith Nov. 19, 1914, and confirmed June 12, 1927, all at Zion Lutheran Church, Obert. Olga graduated from Obert High School in December 1931, and attended Wayne State College the winter and spring of 1932 earning her teaching degree. From 1932-1939, she taught school at the Pleasant Grove School, located next to the Wiseman Monument; Brooky Bottom School #7; Lime Grove School of Dixon County; and Maskell Public School. She married Martin Bottolfsen June 2, 1939, at her parent’s farm home north of Obert. Olga and Martin lived and farmed their entire life in the Paragon Community northeast of Hartington. Olga was a member of the Paragon Lutheran Church and later Trinity Lutheran Church, Hartington. Besides her duties as a mother and farm wife she was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Ladies Aide and Circle organizations and an avid quilter attending Love Day once a month at the Church. She served on the Paragon Lutheran Cemetery Board and Precinct #8 Election Board. Olga is survived by daughters and their spouses, Sally and Budde Boysen, Green Valley, Ariz., and Nancy and Pastor George Johnson, White Mouth Manitoba, Canada; sons and spouses, Bob and Jan Bottolfsen, Hartington; Ed and Helene Bottolfsen, Hartington; and Don and Lois Bottolfsen, Yankton, S.D.; 16 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren; a sister and husband, Rachel and Bill Schneider, Phoenix, Ariz.; and two sisters-in-law, Loretta Bottolfsen, Hartington; and Christine Klanderud, Obert. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin, Aug. 20, 1990; great- granddaughter, Brittany Joslin; a sister, Esther Bottolfsen; and brothers, Otto and Henry Klanderud. Olga M. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Hartington, with the Rev. Bob Bryan officiating. Burial will be in Paragon Lutheran Cemetery, rural Hartington. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. today, with a prayer service and video tribute at 7 p.m., at Wintz Funeral Home in Hartington.
