Korth ====================================================================== DETLEF CLAUSSEN Detlef J. Claussen, a Wausa native, former Bloomfield farmer and grain company worker in Omaha, died Wednesday August 21, at Bergen Mercy Hospital Omaha. He was 61. Mr. Claussen was the oldest of 13 children of John and Adele Claussen. He married Norma Keeno in 1946 in Bloomfield. After farming in that community, he was a crane operator for Bethlehem Steel Co. in California and for the past 28 years worked for Cargill Company in Omaha. He planned to retire in Magnet next month. Survivors include his widow; a daughter Wenith Schmuecker of Ralston, sisters Marion Huttman of Bloomfield, Ruby Hammer of Creighton, Velda Long of Norfolk, Shirley Poppe, Blair and Diane Fleming of Norfolk and brothers John, Robert and Douglas of Wausa, Harold of Shelton, Wash, and Paul and Martin of Noroflk. An uncle John Loedding of Bloomfield and three grandchildren also survive. His parents, a brother and a godchild preceded Mr. Claussen in death. A funeral service was held at the Magnet Methodist Church Saturday morning, August 24 with the Rev. Virginia Cammack officiating. Burial was made in the Magnet Cemetery.
