JAY CONSTABLE

Jay Constable, 93, a longtime resident of the Randolph area, passed away 
on Thursday, April 4, 1991 at Colonial Manor, where he had resided a short 
time.

Services were held on Saturday, April 6, at the Johnson Funeral Home. Burial 
was made in the Magnet Cemetery under the direction of the Johnson Funeral Home.

Jay I., son of Edward and Zelma McConnell Constable, was born March 14, 1898 
at Irwin IA. He attended school at Irwin and Union County near Yankton, SD. On 
October 31, 1923 he was married to Florence Coop at Yankton. The couple farmed 
in Cedar County until 1947, when they moved to Magnet. He had worked for Cedar 
County, operating a maintainer. The family moved to Randolph in 1954 and he 
retired in 1972. Mrs. Constable died November 19, 1989.

Survivors include three daughters, Ruth Whites of Iroqouis, DS, Mrs. James (Creola) 
Lambing of Sioux City, IA and Mrs. Gary (Doris) Brant of Agency, MO; five sons, 
Allen of Long Beach, Dwight of Newport beach, Ronald and Alvie of Escondido and 
Terry of San Diego all of California; 24 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 
two great-great grandchildren; three sisters, Agnita Creeley, Iona Moon and Agatha 
Ferking, all of Los Angeles California, one brother Roy of Glidden, IA.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters and two brothers.
