The deceased, known to everyone as “Dad”, was a friend to all who knew him. He was of a kind and helpful disposition to his neighbors and many friends, and will be greatly missed by the whole community. Death came after a month’s illness brought on by an attack of pneumonia, which later developed into other complications. His six remaining children were at the father’s bedside during his illness and death. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in charge of Rev. Shoaf of Randolph. Burial was made in the local cemetery beside his wife who preceded him about four years ago. Robert Cox was born in Washington County, Penn. September 24, 1838, and died at Magnet, Nebraska on March 2, 1922 at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 8 days.
