Korth ====================================================================== ELVERA DAWSON Funeral services for Elvera Dawson, 90, of Magnet were held Wednesday afternoon, November 4, at United Methodist Church in Wausa. Internment was in the Magnet cemetery. Elvera G. Dawson, daughter of Albert and Ella (Tangeman) Halleen was born January 8, 1908 near Hartington. She graduated from Hartington High School. On July 6, 1929, she married Floyd Dawson at Hartington. They were the parents of one son, Dan and were also guardians of George Craig. Elvera lived most of her life at Magnet where she worked in the family- owned service station and fertilizer plant and was also the bookkeeper. She was a member of the Methodist Church of Magnet, Order of Eastern Star and American Legion Auxiliary. She died November 1, 1998, at Osmond General Hospital. Survivors include her son and wife, Dan and Shirley Dawson of Magnet; five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; a sister Gertrude Wilbeck and husband Fred of Wausa; Sister-in-law, Joan Halleen of Torrance, California and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, three brothers, a sister and foster son.
