Korth ====================================================================== ETHEL DAWSON Our community was grievously shocked early Friday morning when the word passed that the grim angel of death had again entered our midst for the second time in a week, this time claiming a mother, Mrs. R.H. Dawson, wife of a farmer living one mile south of town. The passing of Mrs. Dawson came as a thunderbolt to the community, as but few has learned of the short illness of the deceased. But a short week before her death, Mrs. Dawson was taken ill with a chill that had the symptoms of pneumonia. She was at once placed under a doctor and nurse’s care. On the night of the 18th she suffered a stroke that left her unconscious all day Wednesday, on Thursday she rallied and became conscious and to all appearances seemed to be gradually improving much to the joy of her family. However in the early hours of Friday morning she suffered a second stroke with death coming shortly after. Ethel Mae Dawson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L.W. Aird was born on October 26, 1879 at Paw Paw, Illinois, and came to Nebraska with her parents in 1885. On February 15, 1899, she was married to Robert Dawson. To this union five children were born; Mrs. Eva Henrickson, Mildred, Floyd, Kenneth and Vera. Mildred died on March 13, 1912. Mrs. Dawson joined the Methodist church at the age of 29 years. She died at her home near Magnet on September 21, 1928, after one week of illness at the age of 48 years, 10 months and 20 days. She leaves to mourn her loss, her husband and children, her father and mother and five sisters and a host of friends who deeply mourn her passing and will greatly miss her.
